Rate My Awesomeness

From photo to punchline

This guide explains the current RMA controls and the choices that change who can see your creation. The app is in early access, so some features may be unavailable. Nothing here requires you to publish a photo.

1. Pick a photo, then supply the setup

Start with the sample latte, or use Camera or Upload on the Create screen. Crop if you want the relevant detail to fill the picture. Only use an image you own or have permission to use; check the background for names, addresses or other private details before uploading.

The optional caption accepts up to 300 characters. Give it information the picture alone cannot supply. “My first attempt at latte art” explains the effort; “I promised a perfect heart and got a cloud” sets up a contrast. These are caption-writing examples, not promises about what the AI will say. Avoid adding someone else’s private information.

2. Choose the kind of joke

Try a sample verdict to see prewritten latte text. With your own photo, a live verdict sends the photo and caption to OpenAI for processing. Read the result before using it: AI can misread details or miss your intended joke. If you want another take, change a setting or caption deliberately rather than repeatedly tapping while a request is still running.

3. Saving and sharing are different choices

A successful live verdict is saved to My creations as part of generation. For a sample, choose Save or send it in-app to save it to your account. In-app saving and social features require sign-in and email verification. Saving a sample—including before its first in-app send—sends its photo and caption to OpenAI for safety checks; its verdict text remains prewritten. Previewing or downloading the sample does not perform those safety checks.

You can send a creation to connected friends or a group, or download/share a card outside RMA. Check the selected recipients before sending. In-app private content has access restrictions, but chats are not end-to-end encrypted. Someone who receives or downloads a copy can keep it; deleting the original cannot recall external copies.

Keeping a creation in My creations does not automatically enter it into Awards. If you do not want it public, do not confirm an Awards entry.

4. Understand the public Awards before entering

Choose Enter Awards on a saved, non-sample creation. The Feelgoods is for applause; Roasted! is for sharper wit. You can select one or both sections in the entry dialog. Read and confirm the public-sharing checkbox: it publishes the photo, caption, verdict and your display name, including to visitors without an account. Get permission from anyone shown.

The entry dialog displays the current testing or free-submission allowance. Extra entries that depend on rewarded ads are not available while rewarded ads are disconnected. Do not assume watching an ad is currently possible, or that a withdrawal resets a used allowance.

Signed-in users can give other current-round entries one to five stars and leave public comments. You cannot rate your own entry. Rounds follow the Melbourne calendar month, and monthly winners appear in RMA’s Gold Standard. Awards currently offer recognition, not cash, gift cards or transferable prizes.

Withdraw an entry to remove it from public Awards, including Gold Standard if it won. The original saved creation remains in My creations. Deleting the original also removes its Awards entries. Public visitors may already have made copies.

5. If the result or behaviour is wrong

Use Report beside supported verdicts or shared content, or the report actions in Awards. Blocking a friend limits in-app contact; it does not make an already public entry invisible to everyone. Review the community standards before sharing a roast about someone else.

If a safety check or live request cannot complete, the app may stop rather than save the creation. Do not keep retrying prohibited content. For a technical problem or a moderation question, contact the RMA team with a reference and a short explanation—not sensitive images or passwords.
